This year I had two Christmas celebration days. As my dad works in Angola on an oil rig, he’s only at home for Christmas every second year, meaning that when he isn’t we have to feast before he leaves! Suits me.
Many years for Christmas dinner we’ve had a fondue – it seems to be a particularly continental thing. As last year the family went for the traditional turkey and ham (and nutloaf for myself), everyone was all cheers for the return of the fondue pot again this year. I had my own little pot to myself for the tofu!
Fondue is a pretty fun way of doing Christmas dinner. There was also something nice about having it on a different date than the 25th, like we were having our own separate chilled celebration.
Christmas day was spent in Terenure, between my aunt and my gran’s house. There were 24 of us this year…the whole crazy family. I wasn’t too fussed about Christmas dinner the second time around, though the raw quiche I got from Cornucopia for it was so delicious! Can’t wait to eat more raw based foods in 2014.
