This amazing smoothie combination happened to be the result of a mixture of accidents. I’d planned on having a two mango and frozen banana smoothie for lunch, though when I cut open one of the mangos it was black on the inside. It’s so disappointing waiting for ages for a mango to ripen, and then it turns out completely inedible. I had let another mango defrost so that one was a lovely bright yellow mess! To compensate for the lack of second mango, I added 2 cups of frozen strawberries with two ripe fresh bananas instead of frozen. Blitzed and sipped…tasted like I was a kid again drinking a Petit Filou flavoured milkshake!
~1 Mango (frozen and then defrosted)
~2 Bananas (not frozen!)
~2 cups Strawberries (frozen)
Sometimes a smoothie consistency turns out just perfectly depending on how frozen or defrosted the fruits are, and which fruits are frozen or not. Generally frozen banana is a must for that creamy thickness, but I find that frozen berries work well will fresh bananas. So go and enjoy this dairy free, healthy fruity Petit Filou!
