Summer is nearly heeeere. It sure was creepin’ round my doorstep the other morning.
I like to think myself a cosmopolitan girl…but home is in the countryside!
After whizzing through a 6km set of sprints on the treadmill, I chilled in the sunshine with an old friend.
Doesn’t she just look like a bundle of honeycomb?! Xena the Warrior Princess. The wolf. Barks ferociously…but loves nothing more than a good cuddle really.
I considered running outside instead of the treadmill given the glorious weather, but there’s something about a long country road stretching before you for several miles which refuses to provide any sense of progress. To compromise, I left the door of the barn wide open to let the sun spill on my back.
Another great thing about using the treadmill at home is that you can totally act the inner-idiot while dancing and bopping along (as much as a revolving belt will allow) to your playlist, the occasional extra burst of energy even allowing a few screeched lyrics to emerge. This is something which definitely doesn’t happen at the college gym. No matter how many shots of coffee I have just consumed.
So there I was just soaking up the light and nature.
Here’s to a more cheerful morning me!
